Molly — A Mascot System for Gyandhara

Molly mascot character system sheet for Gyandhara

The problem

Gyandhara needed a brand face. The parent brand, Gyan, already had a celebrity-led campaign featuring a cow named Molly — but Gyandhara had no mascot of its own. External agencies were quoting heavily for the work, and the brief kept getting delayed.

I had never designed a mascot before. I was given the vision and asked to build it in-house.

Understanding the brief

I spent five days before drawing anything — working through what the mascot actually had to carry. A white cow. A doctor's presence. Something that would hold authority with farmers while still feeling warm.

The decision

The brief asked for one mascot. I proposed four.

A single character speaks in a single voice, but Gyandhara's audience isn't one audience. A farmer who trusts scientific expertise and a farmer who trusts his mother's home remedies are not persuaded by the same face. So instead of one mascot, I designed a persona system — four expressions of Molly, each built around a different relationship of trust.

Doctor Molly — the expert. White coat, stethoscope, gold nameplate. Speaks with clinical authority for farmers who want the science behind the feed.
Mata Molly — the traditional voice. Frames solutions the way a mother does, through remedies passed down rather than prescribed. For farmers who trust inherited knowledge over instruction.
Didi Molly — the sister. Always around, always available. Listens to the problem before answering it. For farmers who want to be heard, not lectured.
Modern Molly — the progressive farmer's counterpart. Speaks to those running their farms on data, scale and new methods.

The outcome

All four were approved. Gyandhara went from having no mascot to owning a complete brand character system, built in-house.

Molly is currently live across reels and social posts, with packaging and hoarding applications planned as the character rolls out further.
